Vision & Values

Our church aim is very simple. For the glory of God we treasure Jesus above all.

Jesus is far more amazing than we can ever imagine. The more we grasp the treasure that is in Him, the more our lives will be transformed.

In order to treasure Jesus above all, we have six core values:

1. Centred on His cross

We believe that the death of Jesus on the cross and His resurrection is our great hope. The Bible says that by nature we are God's enemies. We live for ourselves rather than for the God who made us. We are deserving of His right punishment. But Jesus, in an act of extraordinary love, willingly gave Himself to die. He stood in our place, faced the punishment we deserve, in order that we might find become part of God's family. The Bible puts it like this:

He (Jesus) was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.

          Isaiah 53:5

2. Transformed by His Word

The Bible is no ordinary book. Human beings wrote it but, as they wrote, God Himself carried them along by His Spirit. Therefore the Bible is not simply the opinion of men. It is not simply an ancient book from history. It is God's Word that is living and active. It is a book that is absolutely true. It is a word that is powerful to transform people. So we are committed to allowing God to speak to us as we read and seek to understand the Bible.

3. Filled with His Spirit

God has given His Spirit to every Christian. He fills our lives with the power to live for Jesus. He equips the church with all sorts of gifts that are to be used for the glory of Jesus. We long to be a church that is continually filled with the Holy Spirit.

4. Seeking His help

We are weak, God is strong. We are little children, God is our heavenly Father. That is why Christians pray. When we run around trying to do things in our strength, using our own wisdom, it all goes wrong.

5. Loving His Church

We know that church isn't perfect. But church is profoundly important. Jesus loves His church. Jesus died for His church. Jesus is passionate about His church. Jesus is building His church. So we care about church. We long to be a community of people who love each other and live life together.

6. Making Him Known

Jesus commands us to make Him known to the ends of the earth. He is great news for this broken world. So we are committed to sharing the news of Jesus with the community in which we live. We also want to be involved in making Him known to the nations of the world.

But Jesus, in an act of extraordinary love, willingly gave Himself to die. He stood in our place, faced the punishment we deserve, in order that we might find become part of God’s family.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
